My Hero Academia 393/394 and other issues Rant
Okay My Hero Academia...I want to keep liking you But I'll be honest...I’m tired... I know I’m going to get hate for this and I don’t care. But can My Hero Academia go five minutes without romanticizing a fucked abusive unhealthy, destructive or terrible relationship? Because right now, the heroes look like self-righteous dumbasses who should not be trusted nor have any good sense of reason, logic or frankly a consistent sense of morality, ethics and justice. And every time the story pulls out that “the villain is a child inside” crap or goes on about how life was unfair to the mass murderer, it makes the villain look more and more unintentionally unsympathetic. Can heroes like Izuku and Ochako be allowed to set boundaries and priorities to let horrible people hurt them without being considered bad heroes or bad people? Is it really bad for them to not let themselves get hurt just to validate some asshole’s feelings? Ochako doesn’t owe Toga shit. Toga isn’t entitled to shit.

Venting on Latest MHA chapter 392 and other stuff
My thoughts in a visual nutshell courtesy of Bojack Horseman: (No direct spoilers for now) At this point, fuck MHA's save the villain nonsense, Toga needs to die. While we're at it, Shigaraki can die right along with her. You don't get to kill people and then expect everyone to feel bad about you because of your crybaby sob story or because life was unfair to you. I won't say exactly what happens in the latest mha chapter. But it confirms something I've always been frustrated with regarding MHA's theme about "saving the villain". The story constantly talks about how the villains are people and that they needed to be understood and so on. But we are constantly seeing said villains killing or trying to kill people. How many thousands does Tomura have to kill before Izuku accepts that he needs to die? How many people does Toga have to stab before Ochako accepts that she's too far gone to be saved? I'm fine with villains that have sympathetic backstories or reasons, but don't

Part 5... Why does this feel so familiar? I've already laid into how this show is a failure of storytelling because it can't just get to the central conflict or make us care about its asshole useless protagonists. The timeline of the Second Age is compressed to where so much is going to be rushed that the full impact of Sauron's eventual reign over Middle Earth will feel short and pathetic. The events of the main plot are so poorly thought out that its like it was done in one draft. Don't even get me started on the whole “Origin of Mordor” stuff in episode 6. First off, Mordor was created by Morgoth in the First Age and already made Sauron's realm in the first third of the Second Age. End of Story. I'm not even going to bother explaining how stupid it is to build a contraption unlocked by a magic black sword to funnel water into a volcano and that this somehow makes the volcano erupt. I'm not even going to bother explaining why every single character should be dead from the

“You want to tell me that I shouldn't go.” Anton waited as his wife arrayed him in his armor. “You want me to stay on the second level where it is safer.” With word of the Legion's coming, the city had only a day or perhaps two to prepare defenses. All who had given their word to aid in the fight were now summoned to fulfill it and Anton was among them. “Would what I say matter?” Polycaste remained serene and stoic as she strapped on Anton's chestplate. “You will go where you choose and do what you must.” “What you say always matters.” Anton reminded Polycaste who adjusted the hem of his tunic and made the man gasp from her grip upon his manhood. “Do not tease me...” “Return to me so I can tease you more.” She released him and then joined her hands upon his belly. She embraced him upon his back, her breath blew onto the back of his neck as she kissed him on his spine. “Do not leave our children. Do not leave me.” “I will return.” Anton placed a hand on his wife's. “I will always

“Eat.” Polycaste wasn't asking as she handed a loaf of bread to her husband. “You haven't eaten for four days. “The children need it more than me.” Anton insisted as he denied the saliva gathering onto his tongue. “I will be content-” “Our children won't be protected by a starving fool.” Polycaste blunted, nearly shoving the bread into her husband's face. “Eat.” Sighing, Anton took the loaf and munched it down. Then his wife offered him another one and despite the protest rising in him, a stern look from Polycaste told him that resistance was futile. So Anton accepted the loaf and ate it slower this time, his wife kissing him on the cheek as he chewed. Nearby, he could see Longus give his friend a sly smirk and then turn away whistling. Despite scavenging, foraging and what hunting they could manage, Anton and his group of refugees were facing food scarcity. The larger and bigger members of the group agreed to ration their food or withhold from eating to keep what food they had
“Father!” Anton's children ran to embrace their father, but Anton walked passed them. There was no time, he had to get his family out of the city before the worst befell it. “Gather your things and any food you can carry swiftly.” Anton commanded his confused children. “We are going away for a while...so gather your belongings and-” “Do as your father says!” Polycaste said more firmly, the children running to their room as Polycaste caught her husband's face in her hands. “What happened?” “There was a battle...we won, but more will be coming.” Anton explained. “It is the Legion. The Iron Eagle Legion has returned.” “The Legion?” His wife knew who the legion was both from heresay and from Anton's account. However, she was still shocked to learn of their presence in the land. “I thought that you defeated them?” “Ten years ago, I fought them under the banner of Prince Beniam.” Anton stated. “They sent a host across the north-wind sea and established a forward domain between the

The Story What exactly is the story of the Rings of Power about? Here's what the official synopsis says: Amazon Studios' forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth's history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien's pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to

The Characters Out of the Main Cast, only a handful are actually from the books. More than half of the main cast are comprised of made-up characters. The rest are name only characters from the book. I say name only because you would not know whose these characters are without having the names of people from the books. Also, a lot of them are displaced from their canon places in time. My current impression is that ROP takes place towards the end of the Second Age which canonically was 3441 years long. Yet there are characters and events that happened way earlier in the Second Age while other events and changes are either ignored or being pushed to the end of the Second Age. But for now, let's focus on the characters. In the books, the dwarf kings who were named Durin were believed to be the reincarnation of the founder of Khazad-Dum Durin the Deathless. This was because these descendants of Durin's line were so alike to Durin in appearance and manner that he was named Durin as

The Compression of the Second Age So apparently Amazon has decided to compress the events of the Second Age for the purposes of the Rings of Power. Their main reason seems to be that trying to have a show telling the whole second age would require constantly recasting or casting a lot of actors for the mortal roles. So to get around this, they've decided to put every Major Event of the Second Age into the show and set the show in the last few centuries of the Second Age. You heard right. The fatal mistake that Spiderman 3; X Men 3, The Last Airbender and Peter Jackson's Hobbit Trilogy all made. Cramming too source material much into one story so that none of these storylines can truly be flesh out or breath. The temptation of the Noldor, the Forging of the Rings of Power; The Creation of the One Ring; the Rise of Sauron; The Founding of Mordor; The War of Sauron and the Elves; the Dark Years of Sauron; The Corruption of Numenor; The Usurpation of Pharazon; the Capture of Sauron;

Amazon's Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is the worst adaptation since The Last Airbender Okay, that's actually an insult to M Night Shamalyan The Last Airbender deserves to be treated with all of the contempt that it deserves, don't get me wrong. But at least you're not a bad person if you rightly hate this movie. Same goes for Dragon Ball Evolution. Everyone agrees that its an insult to the source material and a bad movie in its own right, but you're not a bad person for hating this movie. So that's what makes Rings of Power that much worst. The fact that the media, Amazon, actors and fans/defenders are acting like all hate and criticism of this movie is about as bad as a hate crime. I've actually been the victim of a hate crime. Every generation of my family has been the victim of a hate crime one way or another. But please explain to me how hating a badly thought out, conceived, planned and written series makes me racist. Also keep in mind that I'm black, so am I an
