As discussed by Bailey in this post: baileyartblog.tumblr.com/post/…
So fellow watchers, deviants, and anime fans, what do you say to Bailey's observations about the "not okay" parts of Anime?
I'm personally shocked that Incest and undertones/overtones that support "rape culture" or "underplaying clear abuse" are so popular. Is that a cultural thing? Do the writers/animators not realize what their scenes look like to viewers? Do they just not care?
The later point about rape culture and abusive relationships especially clicks because I've seen popular shows do this very same thing. Just look at SasuSaku and how much crap that Sasuke dumps on Sakura and yet they end up married. What kind of message does that send to girls? Let your spouse emotional/physically/mentally abuse and belittle you, then forgive him after he gives a half-hearted apology and continue to be his bitch?
As for incest...why?
The paedophilia point is also a decent observation (particularly if you've seen the show "No Game, No Life." where a 10-year old girl is sexualized). Though I'd point out that Japan also has a tendency to make the ages of their female characters unclear and/or not match up with physical appearance. Look at Yoko from Gurren Lagann, I've heard different stories about her age ranging from being 14 (which is stupid ridiculous) to 18 (same age as Kamina) and I go with the later for the sake of simplicity, it makes the most sense to me, and I don't have a guilty shadow over my head.
But the sexualizing prepubescent children? Not okay.
Thoughts?

So uncivilized... But awesome anyway.
Rings of Power Controversy
Listen up. You can hate the Rings of Power (I do) and you're not a bad person for it. You can like the Rings of Power and you're not a bad person for it. You can disagree with other people while also respecting them as fellow fans. You can criticize Rings of Power and Amazon and you're not a bad person for it. But when you demonize critics and fans as "racist" or "trolls", you're not defending the ideas that you think you're standing for. All you're doing is giving validation to Amazon and the media cheerleading for them that they'll always win by manipulating viewers and fanbases against each other. Amazon, Disney and other corporations don't care about black people, women, feminism, or etc. It's all about money for them. This is not an opinion, it is the TRUTH. They only put identity politics and stuff into their product for the sake of marketing their product to certain groups that they think may otherwise not purchase their product. So they have a monetary incentive to
Should I Drop Twitter after Aspergers insult?
So a Twitter Executive (Don't know if former or current) apparently had disagreements with a certain billionaire over Twitter censorship and information control policies and made fun of him for having Aspergers in the process. Here's the rough quote: He has Aspergers. So he's "special". I'm like, you're special needs. He's literally special needs. So, I can't even take what you're saying seriously. As someone with Aspergers (its included in the autism disorder spectrum, but whatever) myself, should I drop Twitter entirely since its leaders have shown inexcusable disrespect for people with Aspergers? The man clearly thinks that people with Aspergers are incapable of making sound judgements or having valid opinions on things because in his eyes, we're too retarded to think like normal people. That we're wired differently so what we have to say about things doesn't matter and we should stay quiet like the good little retards that we are. And yeah I'm using retard because that's what
Updates
April was a slow month, had a lot to work on and so no reviews that month. With that said, staying steady on the Princes Promise and I'm almost at a stopping point where I could take a break and chart out some logistics. By that, I mean show you guys some of those maps and concept art sketches I'd previously promised. In the meantime, I did start a My Hero Academia x Star Wars crossover story up on AO3 for those who like My Hero Academia and or Star Wars. It's only in the beginning, but I'd been working on it on the side for a while and so updates should be coming soon for the first ten or so chapters. After that, it'll be awhile: https://archiveofourown.org/works/38543119 Updates on Wardens and MMMR coming soon. It will be worth the wait, I promise. I'll post a recap chapter for MMMR before the update since it's been a long while. Next update after that shouldn't take as long, but no definitive dates as of yet. Thief and the Cobbler, Star Wars Prequel and Jedi Order Analysis essays

I disagree with some of the examples there, but the article (?) has several valid points, seriously what's up with the incest thing, kid sexualization and horrid relationships (sure you should stick with your abusive boyfriend/girlfriend who treats you like shit just because he/she is sexy?-SasuSaku, ShinjixAsuka I'm looking at you-Well, f*ck that!)?
